history
aipcs was chartered via the oakland unified faculty district in 1996 along with the mission of improving the abysmal performance of native american students within the oakland schools. being a charter faculty, aipcs is free to students and most definitely has significant autonomy. the faculty, located because we are part of a converted church in oaklands laurel district, originally suffered a predominantly native american student population and centered on native american culture ; students had categories in bead-making and drumming and had smoking breaks.
